Here's a pattern brush of some christmas / festive fairy lights, saved as an Illustrator Brush in CS3.

To use:

1. Right click on the link below and save the brush
2. In Illustrator, go to the Brushes panel and click on it's options button
3. Go to the menu 'Open Brush Library > Other Library'
4. Select your downloaded brush in the file browser
5. Draw a path in a new document
6. Select the fairy lights in the Brushes panel
7. You can change the size and orientation of the lights, or tint them a different colour in by clicking the 'Options of selected object' button at the bottom of the Brushes panel
