Dusi Canoe Marathon 2009

Today I'm in the Drakensberg mountains attending a wedding (this has to be one of the most beautiful spots in the world to tie the knot), watching the clouds change the incredible mountain vista in front of me. This is also the final day of the 2009 Dusi Canoe marathon, set in the same provence, [...]

Solo Suicide Skate: The Ally Pally Rose

I went on another skate mission tonight.. I meant to go straight to Alexandra Palace and back, but somehow managed to get a bit lost and do an entire loop, which in the end was worth it to bomb down Muswell Hill Well, I say it was worth it, but the route was a [...]

Solo Suicide Skate: Cally Rd > N Circular Round Trip

I went on a bit of a random skate tonight from Cally Road generally circling Hampstead Heath:
Cally > Archway > East Finchley > North Circular > Golders Green > Lost a bit to Hendon Way > Golders Green > Hampstead > Swiss Cottage > Chalk Farm > Camden > Cally
This was a great fun skate [...]

A ‘Different’ Skate Slider

London to Brighton [...]

New Freeskate Modifications

I figured it was about time to give my old favourite skates a bit of an overhaul, so they were treated to some new liners, ankle straps and shocks on top of the wheels & bearings I bought not long ago.
They handle wonderfully and I'm particuarly chuffed about the liners, which are a perfect [...]

Hypno +G Wheels, BSB Swiss Bearings

New wheels and bearings. The old ones were completely shagged, so this felt super smooth. I swear you need a lot less energy with a good setup.

Lush Slide Gloves + Inlines = Painful Fun

Another self-present this weekend. Been after some of these badboys (the gloves) for ages for surf-style inline skating, but it was also so much fun on a skateboard, I went right back to the shop and bought carve trucks.
I had never heard of anyone using slide gloves with inlines; they're born out of [...]
