3D Fundamentals - Class recap

Well, after a delayed start we've got moving on Module 2 and covered quite a lot.

On Wednesday we looked at the current main methods of modelling in 3D -
1. Parametric / primitive modelling.
2. Polygonal modelling
3. Spline / NURBS
(4.) Subdivision  surfaces / HyperNurbs

We then took a look at some of the options we have in Cinema 4D for NURBS.
Extrude, lathe, loft, sweep.
Of these, loft is like a modelling method in itself.

On Thursday, we examined some common polygonal modelling methods and tried some common polygon modelling tools from the structure menu
Extrude, extrude inner, knife, magnet, create polygon, close polygon hole, add point.

We then used Hypernurbs and the above techniques to model a simple cartoon head suitable for animation.

At this stage, you should be exploring:
Primitives and the modelling menu
Splines and NURBS menus
Polygonal models and structure menu
Also, deformers can be used with any of the above.

We'll do a quick 'test' in a few weeks to see how you are getting on with these menus.
